-----Loss of aluminum when etched
We supply an extruded tube (6063) that is bright dipped. all thickness is critical.
How much should metal should e expect to lose in bright dip process?
aluminum extrusion - Ontario, California
2003
It would be conventional to anodize the aluminum after bright dipping or the bright luster would quickly fade. That being the case, material loss is not an issue, material gain is. When aluminum is anodized, the aluminum oxide film is roughly twice as thick as the material lost in building the film.
