Removing rust economically from sheet metal model

2003

I was building a model with sheet metal and it got left outside in the rain as I had to leave town in an emergency.
When I got back after about ten days the whole model had caught extensive rust and scales of it are on the metal sheets.

The model is big and heavy and thus cannot be immersed in a tank. How do I remove the rust from it economically?

Hi, Nayyar. Brush away the loose dust with a wire brush or wheel, then brush on a rust converter ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] like naval jelly ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] . Good luck with it
