Mr Sharma,

In my experience, there are a few different factors that will dictate the way you will go about this. Cost being one. Component size, another. Mechanical stress in use, another. Hard chrome is not very rust resistant in thicknesses less that 10 thou. An underlaying coating of plated nickel would help things, corrosion wise, at the expense of mechanical strength, which is at a premium anyway with hard chrome. I suggest you provide more specifics about this part, its function, expected working environment and life.
