-----Preserving patinas without gloss
1998
Dear Finishing.com
I came upon your web site by chance and had hopes that you might be able to help me with a problem. I have been looking for a way to seal patinas that minimizes changes in the color and gloss. These are for bronzes that are for interior only, so I thought it should be possible. Wax (I've tried many kinds, hot and cold applications) and Incralac ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] are much glossier and too much color change than I want. The closest I've come to what I'm looking for are spray fixatives that are normally sold for pastel drawings. I was wondering if anyone had tried anything else, or which brands of fixatives or sealers might be better than others. I would be greatful for any suggestions.
Carol BrownHi, I am interested in purchasing Incralac ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] , but do not know where to do so. Can you please help me out? Thanks - Kent Samuelson
