Home Restorers and Powder Coats

2003

I am starting a car restoration project and am looking into powder coating suspension, rear end, and rocker panels due to its resistance to chipping. Is is possible to make a homemade oven? What temperature and duration should the parts be kept at after application? Is there an inexpensive oven on the market for crafters and restorers?

You can use a used ordinary kitchen oven as long as its electric. Don't use one that will be used for food again though. If you need something larger, just build an angle iron frame, line it with sheet metal, wrap insulation around the outside, and transfer all the electrics from a donor oven to it.
