Corrosion resistant stainless steel (Magnetic)

Dear Sir,

We manufacture solenoid valve and we want stainless steel which is magnetic and can withstand atleast 200 hours in 5% NaCl salt spray. (There should be no rust visible), Please help.

Kalpak, the most common stainless steel used for magnetic applications is an 18% chromium, as low carbon as possible grade. In North America 430 is the proper designation, and it looks like 1.4016 is pretty similar. Properly cleaned and passivated, it should give you your 200 hours of salt spray resistance.
