Parkerizing of rubber to metal bonded parts

2003

We have a part with requirement of parkerizing (Mn phosphating) but we do not have the facility to do that in-house instead we can do Zinc phosphating. What is difference between Zinc Phosphating and parkerizing? Which one is preferred for Rubber to metal anti-vibration parts like suspension bushings and engine mounts. Can we do Zinc phosphating in place of parkerizing?

Dear Mr Abhey,

Mn Phosphating has oil retaining, self lubricating and wear resistance properties. Zn phosphate is generally used as a base for painted surfaces and also temporary corrosion prevention of steel. It is known be used as a base coat for subsequent moulding.
