-----Properties of Chrome in relation to thickness
Do properties start to change within a chrome deposit as you increase thickness? If properties do change what are they, and at what thickness does the change take effect? Also, what is the structural difference in a .005 chrome deposit as compared to say a .030 deposit?

My thouight is the properties do not significantly change, but the accumulation of internal stress does. Massive cracks become more probable as the thickness goes up. These cracks are strong enough to promote cracking of the parent metals.
PWA used to limit chrome to 0.010 after grind because of this.
