Etching solution for Nickel on PET

I want to etch ~70 Angstroms thick Nickel coating that has been sputtered on Polyethylene. Suggestions are welcome!

What exactly do you mean by 'etch', though? Roughen, reveal grain, remove the whole 70 Angstroms in selected areas? 70 Angstroms is thin enough that I would suspect the latter since you've given us little context to go on.

A mixture of 20 vol hydrogen peroxide with 10% sulfuric acid will do it. However, 70 Angstrom thick nickel is a specialist product, so if you want to etch fancy patterns, try ablation with an excimer laser.
