Tin plating - how to retain finish during stamping process

Q. Our terminal strip is tin plated. After plating, the terminal strip is undergoing a stamping process (forming and cutting). During this process, the tin plating finish has gone down. Please suggest how to retain the finish after the stamping.

A. I'm an old hat at tin plating - since about 35 years. Your problem is easily solvable. Kindly furnish the following :

1] Are you carrying out tin plating on the terminal strips yourself? If yes, please let me have full details of the plating process being adopted by you, viz. Is it a bright acid or an alkaline plating bath?
2] What is the base metal of the terminal strips?
3] Details of the pretreatment steps being done presently.
