-----School project on auto polishing compound
Q. I want to experiment making a basic auto polishing compound. What mild abrasive powder or powders should I use and what should I try as the compound base? I do not want to use any petroleum distillates since this is a school project.

A. I guess I'd try groundfine pumice ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] or Bon Ami ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] in beeswax ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] if I wanted a completely natural polish. But I'd want to try it out on your car's paint before I try it on my own :-)
