Ni sulfamate vs. E-Ni for fasteners

Request for Help. Between electroplating nickel sulfamate and nickel phosphorous electroless plating, which would provide a better plating for fastener product

It depends on what you define as better. If you need to closely control geometry and uniformity, electroless is almost totally uniform whereas sulphamate will vary up to ten times from valley to crest. If you need toughness and fatigue resistance, sulphamate elongates up to 20% against 1% for most EN's. If you need corrosion resistance EN will be probably twice as good for the same thickness. If you need cost, EN is more expensive(?).

Guillermo, I like your answers. Your know your plating stuff.

Me, I've been hanging around the vapor degreaser too much.
