-----How to explain item magnetic on only ONE side
Removed a set of magnets from an old hard disk. What is unique about these magnets, they are only magnetic on ONE side. The magnet is glued to a piece of ferrous material, but the ferrous material isn't magnetic. How is this done?

I'm not familiar with the application or technology, but I would assume that the magnet is a very thin disk that is bonded (perhaps autoclaved) to a heavier non-magnetic ferrous material like a 300 series stainless steel.
