HAMMERED COPPER FINISH TREATMENT

I am a hobbyist making a Mission style table out of Black walnut. I hammered Stickley style pulls from copper and am looking into treating the pulls for a darker, aged look; maybe a brown patina. Are there options I might be able to concoct at home?

The simplest way of darkening copper is probably with liver of sulfur on eBay or Amazon [affil links] , Mark.
