Cadmium Coating Weight

I was wondering if anybody had a procedure for checking the coating weight on Cadmium plated test panels? Is there a specific strip or instrument to be used? Please give me any info that you can.

It is not normally done, but a way would be to strip the chromate off by boiling DI water for 10 min or so. Dry and weigh. Strip the cad in a fresh ammonium nitrate solution, rinse, dry and weigh. You now have the cad weight. Measure accurately the panel and divide the wt by the square inches of all of the sides = wt/sq unit.
