Corrosion resistance of Bright Zinc and Yellow Zinc plating

Could anyone tell me which type of zinc plated nut would have the longest lifetime - BZP or Yellow Zinc finish ? Is this just a cosmetic difference ?

If the parts and plating were perfectly identical and the chromate was of equal quality, the yellow would have the better corrosion resistance, primarily because it is a thicker film. James Watts
