Rust build up on table legs

How do I remove rust from stainless steel table legs? This table is probably circa 1950-1960.

Thank you,

When you say they're "stainless steel", do you know that to be true literally or is that just an offhand convenient term to use? Because I would think they are more likely to be nickel-chrome plated. Once chrome starts rusting, the only thing to do is to send it for replating, because the plating is perforated and the underlying steel is exposed. Cleaning either stainless steel or chrome plating with chrome polish and then waxing will deter rust but only for a very short time.
