Testing method (Ferroxyl test) for Electroless Nickel Plating jobs of 5 microns

Is ferroxyl test (porosity test) preferred for an ENPlated job (Fe+Si alloy) where the plating thickness < 15~20 micron?

Is there any specific standard reference (proof) to prove that ferroxyl test is not the ideal test for en plating jobs less than 15~20 microns?

If this is not a preferred test, what's the preferred test for such jobs, other than the usual thickness test and adhesion test?

Can we do Nitric acid test to check the ENPlated jobs less than 7 microns?
