Method to develop cheap testing method to gauge anodizing process

I'm currently working as process engineer in small metal stamping company, we also doing metal anodizing. We don't have a proper method to check the anodizing process is there any cheap and cost effective method to do measurement so as even I can build one jig to do the test. Also I'm good at electronics to help me. The end customer wants test results, but being small as our company we cannot afford to buy off hand test equipment. Can you recommend us a method we would appreciate it very much .

If you can't afford to check the quality of your coatings I'm afraid you are going to remain small. You need an Eddy Current thickness tester and I'm sure someone somewhere is upgrading theirs and willing to sell off the old one for a low price.
