Roughness in electroless nickel plating of valve balls

our branch in dubai gets lot of valve balls for electroless nickel plating
can you recommend anyway to avoid roughness on OD inspire of using 5 microns filters

Assuming that the plating parameters are within limits, tank additions are made slowly in areas of intense agitation, there is zero temperature stratification, the valve is preheated in a hot rinse if it is large, surface preparation is by the book and all of those tanks are in limit, then increasing the volume of the pump is the only answer.

I like James Watts "assumptions". I would guess that he knows as well as I do that you would be quite exceptional if you had all those factors correct all the time. I do fully agree with him and especially emphasize that correct composition - analysis every hour - and small additions frequently are essential. However I would point out that some nickels are worse than others and you would do well to try processes from different suppliers. As a generalization the slower depositing processes are more stable and thus less prone to roughness. But do not just assume this!
