CHEMICAL ETCHING FOR STAINLESS STEEL

2002

Dear sir:

We would like to etch copper at present we are using ferric chloride [on eBay or Amazon] in conveyorized etching machine under heat & spray pressure we would like to reduce etching time can we go for electro chemical immersion reverse voltage method.

We tried with carbon cathode, 30% ferric chloride[on eBay or Amazon]solution, operating voltage 2Volts,though it etches copper the edges are not uniform.

Kindly suggest electro chemical immersion reverse voltage method with details like

1.what is the anode?
2.what is the percentage of ferric chloride [on eBay or Amazon]?
3.what is the operating voltage?
4. how many microns will it remove at these condition?

With high regards,

Sir ,
What is the diff between cp grade ferric chloride[on eBay or Amazon]and lab grade ferric chloride [on eBay or Amazon], does lab grade will etch fast when compared to cp grade.
