Are there restrictions for the use Nickel electroplating on ABS plastic for use in hand held electronics? If so, can Cobalt electroplating replace the Nickel ?

I'm not personally aware of an EU or other prohibition on nickel in hand-held electronics, but that doesn't prevent people from taking a pro-active position on getting nickel out of their products which are directly handled by consumers. In doing so, I'd think seriously of white bronze . . . there are many experts who are convinced that cobalt is no less irritating to the sensitized population than nickel and maybe more so, that the only difference is that we have far less experience with cobalt.
