Sulfuric acid regeneration

We use around 0.5 tonnes/hr of sulfuric acid which comes out of the process at around 80% purity. The main contaminant is water, although there is some hydrogen chloride present. We want to regenerate the sulfuric acid with a purity of 97% but don't feel that the amount we produce warrants building a sulfuric acid regeneration plant. What other methods could be used to regenerate the acid?

Hi

from my experience it is quite easy to recover the contaminated acid by using distillation process. I suggest you that you may heat up the waste acid to 160 degree C then the contaminants of water and hydrogen chloride will get distilled and this vapour may be condensed by condenser then the residue becomes our product..

pls take note that which is feasible to water and HCl as contaminant..if it contains other inorganic salt then we should consider other methods like ceramic membrane system or nanofiltration technology

Thanks,
