Brazing on electroless nickel
We are trying to join, by brazing or soldering, a completely refractory glassy metal (Mo_49Ru_33B_18)to a different material
(brass, bronze etc.). This material is covered by a tough and thick oxide layer. After many trials we deposited on the surface a thin layer of electroless nickel (Ni 88% P 12%); the layer shows an extremely good adhesion. How can we join on it? Should we use an acid flux and just a tin-silver solder?
Thank you,

Hi, Alessandro. Once you have electroless nickel on it you should be home free. You can plate a layer of another more solderable metal on it now if you wish, or solder the electroless nickel.
If you now search the site for "solder electroless nickel" you will find numerous threads on the subject, perhaps best starting with letter 41570. Good luck!
