How do I color anodize or find someone who will color anodize individual objects?

I'm trying to color anodize several small metal objects that I have. My goal is not just to improve surface finish, texture, and durability, but to improve these objects cosmetically, but I suppose this is all obvious.

I'm not certain what type of metal every object that I want to anodize is made out of. I'm just beginning researching all of this, so I don't know if identifying metal type is necessary or not.

I'm searching for a small company or individual who can anodize individual objects. What I mean by this, is someone who can offer this service on a little or single volume basis, so to speak. This is for hobby purposes.

I'm unsure as to the process of anodization technically speaking, so I'm also unaware if anyone can cost effectively offer this service on individual pieces. Although I've read small excerpts about Teflon injection, and different types or brand methods of color anodization, my knowledge here leaves much to be desired, so any information and guidance I can receive will be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if I can purchase equipment and learn to do this myself, or if this is simply unaffordable and will demand that I find someone else to do it. Again, any knowledge here is appreciated.

Thanks!

Krey,

I'm sure there are several anodizers in Portland that will do your work, and there are also some here in Boise Idaho...just call around. If you want them to look nice, I suggest sending them to someone with experience.
