-----Copper crimps vs stainless crimps
I am building a dock on Bogue Sound (NC) which features an anchor every 16 ft. The anchor is attached to the pier with stainless steel cable crimped with a copper crimp. What is the potential for galvanic action? I understand that stainless crimps are available but twice as expensive as copper, $4 ea. x 90.

Whether we call it galvanic corrosion (due to the difference in electropotential between copper and stainless steel) or whether we call it plain old vanilla corrosion, it's hard to name a more corrosive environment. Go with the stainless 🙂
