Plating chrome TDC

What is TDC Chrome Plate? What is the difference between typical hard chrome and TDC? Does TDC require a different bath chemistry than standard hard chrome.

Oh, brother. This is one of "those" questions. TDC, "thin dense chrome" is a trademark for a licensed process, and those who offer it are going to tell us how different and marvelous it is, citing mil specifications and all; and those who don't license it and use that trade name are going to tell us that it's all smoke and mirrors--that chrome is chrome. Brace yourselves.
