-----Adhesion on ceramic thermoset
I am trying to electroless copper plate some plastic samples. Does anyone have any suggestions on etching a ceramic thermoset polymer composite which is basically made up of barium titanate, barium oxide, silica, copper, and aluminum. I am able to get about 1 lb/inch adhesion using potassium hydroxide and chromic acid. However the customer would prefer the adhesion more in the 3-5 lbs/inch range. Post-baking doesn't help/increase the adhesion! Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Try an HF/ammonium bifluoride solution, hot. I'm not sure of your % compositions, but this will go after the silica anyway.
