Hardcoat Anodize Surface Energy

I am trying to bond a hardcoat anodized aluminum part with a PC/ABS part and would like to know what the surface energy of hardcoat anodizing is. My guess is that it is a low surface energy finish but I'm not sure how low. I'd like to use an adhesive tape.

The surface energy of clean aluminum oxide is fairly low but varies considerably with impurities & chemicals adsorbed (note: adsorbed, not absorbed) on the surface. Clean and dry 6063 aluminum has a surface energy of about 90 dynes/cm2 and clean & dry polished aluminum oxide can be in the 20-30 range in dynes/cm2. As we all know, the surface energy figures vary from source to source & are dependent on temperatire & testing conditions--in other words, your mileage may vary.

Your best bet would be to test your product with a droplet procedure which measures contact angle.
