-----Polishing copper
Does anyone know how to achieve a near mirror finish on copper plate. I built my own pedestal polisher and have tried various mops and compounds but I still can't remove the grain properly.

I had the same problem with sheet aluminum. I started over with a random-orbit hand sander, and progressed from 180-220-320 grit paper before I used the sisal wheel and black polish.

Before polishing, rub abrasive belt over with a garden pebble. Also when polishing, polish against the grain not with it and when dollying off use garden lime to cut down on grease.
