Passivation of Stainless Steel Specs

2002

Hello:

I'm currently collecting information about passivation. I'm looking forASTM A380 , but I was told it's quite out of date and needs to be updated. I've heard about ASTM A967 for passivation specification. My question is, where can I find or get a copy about these documents?

Best Regards,

Ed. note: We've hotlinked your mention of these specs to their descriptions on a service from which you can download them or order printed copies. Good luck.

Or go here:
www.astm.org

There are many ways to search on that site. Good luck.

Luis:

Yes, ASTM A380 is an old Recommended Practices document. It is not a specification. It has a lot of good material in it, but it does need to be updated. ASTM A-967 is the Specification to be used for passivation of stainless steel for the general market. ASTM F86 is also used for the orthopaedic industry. AMS2700 or AMSQQP35 [canceled] are used for aerospace.

The ASTM standards can [also] be downloaded from www.astm.org.
