Controlling stress and screen blockage in electroforming

2002

Hi,

We have recently entered into electroformed meshes with 100 dpi 65% open area. We are regularly facing problems like compressive stress, which we normally control with sachhrin and screen blockage is another major problem, could a professional solve our problems.

Best regards,

Will you please tell little more about your parameters? What type of bath chemistry are you using? What is the Current density? Concentration? pH? Temperature? What type of brightener are you using? What is your contamination level? How do you stop off the mesh? Do you have reasonably clean room environment? What pretreatment do you use before you start plating? A word on thickness and application will be appreciated.

If you are contolling your stress with saccharin then you have tensile stress in your bath because saccharin pushes the bath tward the compressive side of the scale thereby pushing it tward zero. How did you come up with compressive stress? Do you have a contractometer?
