Galvalume "Black Rust" Problem - Need Corrective Action

2002

"Galvalume" unpainted panels, 24 gauge, stacked for a long period of time have developed "black rust".
1. Is there any method to clean the discoloration?
2. Is there a coating that can be put on the panels that will increase the life expectancy?
3. Will the coating process void the warranty?
4. Does "black rust" shorten the warranty period of 20 years or the life expectancy of the panels?
5. If there are ways to combat the problem as questioned herein, are there literature or recommendations available from a primary supplier?

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
