Clear Zinc Plating Discoloration and Quality Issues

I have several back plates with a Clear Zinc plating. Our quality department is concerned about some of the parts that have spots or discolorations. Are discolorations common with a Clear zinc plating? Where can I find some kind of plating quality standard?

It probably means that either your finish was not done properly or the coating was not uniform or sufficient. Use any of the ASTM standards e.g ASTM B633.

Wish you luck!

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
