Removing the blue from blue spring steel

Is there a readily available chemical to remove the blue from blue spring steel. I remember there was something available from industrial supply houses a while back, but I can't find it any longer.

I know what you are talking about, but my memory fails me about the product name you are looking for. This goes back over 20 years. However, if you have a lot of material, you might want to consider using an ultrasonic cleaning system. I developed a process for the Boeing Co in Phila. that used a chemical additive, I think the chemical was called castaway 302.
