-----Zinc-based epoxy for stainless steel painting
I was informed that zinc-based primer is not suitable for coating stainless steel. The part in question is going to be welded to a carbon steel, and the carbon steel will be painted, thus the stainless should get a coat, too. The reasoning is that zinc-based primer is not suitable is that the zinc in the coating may react with the chrome in the stainless steel.
Is that true? How may I coat the stainless steel safely?
The equipment in question is a high pressure catalytic converter vessel in a urea plant.
