Plating-masking-painting

I want to do painting and plating in a particular job. Top portion of the job should be painted and the bottom portion of the job should be nickel chrome plated. Any chemical available for masking the top portion of the job while plating it. After plating the masked area should be peelable or removable or cleanable from the job and this area should be painted.

We have stop-off maskant for chrome plating applications.

Brush on maskant is an option, however, depending on part quantity, size, configuration, plating process, and resources available, a "no mask" mechanical masking device and / or anode device may work better. Painting on liquid maskants is a tried and true method, but workmanship, drying time, clean up, can make or break your project. Mechanical masking devices, or "no mask" anodes as we sometimes call them, save time, money and valuable resources while minimizing workmanship errors and waste materials like spent tapes, foils and peel off maskants.

I recommend "no mask" anodes when you have quantities of a particular part and the cost can be amortized over an entire order. If you have a small quantity of parts, paint on maskants would likely be your best option.
