Chrome removal from phosphoric acid
I'm looking for any practical method for removal of chrome, aluminum, and other metals from phosphoric acid (1500-gal tank,
70-75%/wt); chrome is now at 180 ppm - I need to go down as much as possible and be able to repeat that process quite frequently.
Thanks for help.

We have removed the metals and organics from our 7 plating lines for the past 1.5 years plus. Read the March issue of the Strategic Goals Plan Update at strategicgoals.org to see how.

It is possible and practical to remove cationic metals from phosphoric acid using ion exchange. However, I have never tried this on a solution as concentrated as 75% by weight acid.
