Hairline finish on aluminium

All,

I need some help to produce a hairline finish on 6063 Aluminium. On the moment we use a manual process with sandpaper grit #80, #120 and maroon 3M scotchbright. Are there industrial machines available to produce a hairline look ? (Our aluminium products have various shapes such as flat sheet, square 65mm, round shapes.)

Help would be appreciated.

I assume by hairline, you are talking about a thin reflective finish? Round shapes of the size you mentioned would not be a problem using mass finishing systems; however, your flat pieces concern me. They might be better off in a lapping system. Since you are doing a wheel operation now, there is also a possiblity this type of system can be automated. Possibilities are endless. How is your pocket book? Need a lot of information to make better recommendation.
