How to Nicasil

Hi,

I'm interested in learning how to nicasil motor cycle barrels. Is there anyone who could possibly assist me by telling me how to do this, or is there a book available for me to learn from.

Kindest Regards,

Regarding the Nikasil process, you will find most of what you want in the archives in letter 1671. However, this is an industrial process that applies a thin wear-resistant coating. It is not achievable in a garage/hobbyist environment. You may want to read up on this and then inquire around, there may be some vendors that would be willing to do this for you. As noted in the letter archive, this exact process is not available in a brush plate, it is dependent on a high temperature process, though there are other somewhat similar coatings, probably with inferior performance, that can be brush plated.
