Bright zinc plating over industrial steel

How long can I expect bright zinc plating to last over industrial steel, if exposed daily to outside elements? And our company only guarantees 48 hours salt spray.

Steel parts that have been properly zinc plated and chromated should give years of service. Yellow chromating (type II) offers better corrosion resistance than clear. A thickness of the zinc plating and conversion coating is essential in order to give a service expectancy of 3-7 years (ASTM B633).
