-----Ultrasonic cleaning and contamination
We use an ultrasonic cleaning system for copper parts that uses phosphoric acid as the cleaning solution, can anyone tell me if we could also use the same solution for cleaning 304L stainless steel without any cross contamination occurring between the two materials.
John Jones- Crawley, West Sussex, England
Phosphoric acid is a tarnish remover, but I don't think it's usually considered a cleaner. I think the dissolved copper will readily deposit onto the stainless steel such that you find this approach unworkable.
