-----Alternative for for Hydrofluoric acid (HF) to remove silver coated surface
I looking forward to find an alternative for Hydrofluoric acid (HF) to remove silver coated surface.

We'd like to help, Sy, but your inquiry is a bit abstract. What material is the substrate and what is the silver coating (is it electroplated silver)?
At some risk of oversimplification, if you're trying to remove silicon from something, HF or some fluoride ion is usually necessary. When you're not trying to remove silicon, it usually isn't. Thanks.

Around a 50% solution of nitric acid seems to work. You can add some hydrogen peroxide to increase the stripping rate. But, as Mr. Mooney stated make sure this solution won't harm what is underneath the silver.
