Chrome over brass

I would like to know how to paint over brass (real) to give it a chrome or "silvery" finish. Ideally I would like to end up with a chrome like finish (shiny), but will settle for a duller (silvery type) finish if that is all that is possible. Any help would be appreciated!

I had an ceiling fan that had white blades so I painted them brown to go in my bedroom. It was also finished with gold/brass trim and pull chain. I sanded the trim, covered the rest of the light with plastic and sprayed it with ARMOR COAT's METALLIC paint. Smooth(Quick Dry). I got it a while ago but it must be from Canadian tire. The finish might not be as shiny as you want but it looks great to me. Much better than the brass! good luck.
