Refinishing a brass bed

How do I remove paint from an old brass bed? I would like to restore the brass to a shine.

My mother-in-law has an old brass bed from the 1930's that was painted years ago. I want to strip it, and restore the bed to the original condition... What should I do here?

Did either of you find out how to remove the paint from the beds as I'm about to undertake a similar project and would love some guidance?
