What is the necessity of Teflon coating for a car? Does it help?

It's obvious that it is not "necessary". Does it help what? Corrosion resistance, wind drag, resistance to chipping, etc., etc.? I really don't know what exactly you are referring to. Maybe someone else will know what you are talknig about, or maybe you should rephrase the question.
