Deep black finish

We are having steel parts that are black oxide processed that come out reddish. The customer doesn't want to change the alloy. What other way is there to give a deep black finish to a steel part?

Thanks,

There are some additives that are used in gun "bluing" that help prevent the red color. The bluing I use comes out black and I use an additive to help stop the red color when bluing nickel steel parts. You may be able to find something on a web search of gunsmithing supplies. I use a hot bluing but if you using one of the cold process systems, I don't know if there is anything. Good luck.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
