Brass plating help needed

I need step by step procedures for brass plating several objects.

Bill Stinger
- Pocatello, Idaho, USA

Hi, Bill.

Brass is an alloy of zinc and copper. To get an active metal like zinc, which resists deposition, to codeposit with a noble metal like copper, which "volunteers" to deposit, is no mean trick. For practical purposes, it requires cyanide-based plating solutions. Cyanide is an extremely dangerous and powerful poison which is not a good place for beginners to the plating field to start. The way to brass plate a few items is to find a shop in our Directory of Jobshops here or in your yellow pages. Sorry for being negative about this.
