Passivation Type IV was under QQ-P-35B, QQ-P-35C obsoleted the Type IV.

If you have a copy of QQ-P-35 it will tell you what to do. I hope you are not 'working' to a standard without a copy on hand.
PS look for the standard online, and you should be able to get a copy (you many have to register).

QQ-P-35 has been cancelled in favor of ASTM A967. There is an SAE/AMSQQP35
[canceled] for the aerospace industry for the moment.
