Phosphating Help

Dear Sir,

I am working on a small project related to phosphating of mild steel. I would like to know the phosphating bath composition (either Zn or Mn) which can give some corrosion resistance to the mild steel.

B. Vamsi Krishna

Phosphating is the chemical treatment of iron, steel, zinc, cadmium, aluminum, and their alloys, by means of a dilute acid phosphate solution saturated with one or more of these metals, so that the metal is converted to an insoluble crystalline phosphate coating. For a small project, I would buy a proprietary solution from a local vendor.
